Why the Mid-east?

Sami Zaatari

One argument that atheists often raise is why did God decide to so heavily concentrate his efforts in the specific region of the middle-east, for instance why do so many of the main religious events happen to be based in this area. From this they go on to conclude that this is proof that the main three Abrahamic faiths are simple fairy tales, myths, and legends created by men in the area.

For starters this isn't a real argument, just because a lot of major religious events happened to be concentrated in a specific region does not mean the religion is false and is not from the all mighty God, hence the atheists as usual are acting on no ground. Atheists must give us a real reason as to why major religious events occurring in the mid-east make it wrong, all the atheist is doing is reporting a given fact, that many of the major religious events have taken place in the mid-east, and that my friends is not an argument!

Secondly, the atheist is also attacking a straw man, because in the case of Islam the mighty religion of Islam does not teach that prophets and messengers were only sent to the mid-east, on the contrary, the Quran teaches that every nation and people received prophets and messengers:

For We assuredly sent amongst every People a messenger, (with the Command), "Serve Allah, and eschew Evil": of the People were some whom Allah guided, and some on whom error became inevitably (established). So travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those who denied (the Truth). (16:36)

To every people (was sent) a messenger: when their messenger comes (before them), the matter will be judged between them with justice, and they will not be wronged. (10:47)

So Quran makes it clear, that all people were given a messenger, hence revelation and messengers were not simply restricted to the middle-east.

Now with that said, it is true that the main foundations of the 3 major Abrahamic faiths is based in the middle-east, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. And it is true that most of the stories of the prophets which are recorded in the Quran happen to have taken place in this geographic area, from Noah to Abraham to Ishmael  to Jacob to Joseph to Zachariah to Jesus and to Muhammad, peace be upon all of them!

Now is this a problem? Not even close! If atheists had bothered to study history, they would have learned that the birth of civilization began in the middle-east! Historians are agreed that the first civilization to appear on this planet was in the middle-east, as they say, the middle-east is the cradle of civilization. To this day we present day humans are influenced by these early civilizations of the middle-east! The fact is this my friends, the land from Egypt all the way into Iraq and Iran have always played a huge significant role in our history, these are the areas where civilization began, hence it makes perfect sense for God to have so heavily concentrated on this area, and to create the major foundations of the major three religions in these specific areas.

Now there is another obvious reason as to why God would choose this area to be the main area, and it doesn't take a professor to realize why! The middle-east GEOGRAPHICALLY is in a very good area, it is as they say, where west meets east, it is centred in the middle, it is the go between, that is why its called the MIDDLE EAST! They didn't just give this name for fun, they name is based on the geographical reality.

So let us put it all together, the cradle and birth of civilization happened in the middle-east, the mid-east has always had a major influential role throughout history, and on top of that the geographical area is where east meets west, it is the middle-east, all of this put together makes perfect sense as to why God made the most out of these areas for his cause!

And Allah Knows Best!
