Who Really Hates Jesus?

Christians often like to claim that Muslims do not love Jesus, rather that we hate him and do not really respect him. In light of this claim I thought it would be fair to offer a comparison of what the Quran has to say about Jesus, with what the Bible has to say about Jesus, by doing so we will be able to compare which book truly insults Jesus, and which teaching truly leads to a hate of Jesus. So with that said let us proceed to the claims of both books.

Bible:

Jesus is a curse:

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree." (Galatians 3:13)

The Holy Quran:

Jesus is blessed:

"And He hath made me blessed wheresoever I be, and hath enjoined on me Prayer and Charity as long as I live; (19:31)

Bible:

Jesus is forsaken and abandoned by God:

And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?"?which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" (Mark 15:34)

The Holy Quran

Jesus is close with God, God is with him, and does not forsake him:

Behold! the angels said: "O Mary! Allah giveth thee glad tidings of a Word from Him: his name will be Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, held in honour in this world and the Hereafter and of (the company of) those nearest to Allah; (3:45)

Bible:

Jesus goes through a brutal humiliating death as a common criminal:

Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified. Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers. And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head. And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him. (Matthew 27:26-31)

The Holy Quran:

Jesus is saved by God, and the plot of his enemies if foiled and thwarted, Jesus is not killed as a common criminal:

And (the unbelievers) plotted and planned, and Allah too planned, and the best of planners is Allah. Behold! Allah said: "O Jesus! I will take thee and raise thee to Myself and clear thee (of the falsehoods) of those who blaspheme; I will make those who follow thee superior to those who reject faith, to the Day of Resurrection: Then shall ye all return unto me, and I will judge between you of the matters wherein ye dispute. (3:54-55)

That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:- Nay, Allah raised him up unto Himself; and Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise;- (4:157-158)

So let us summarize what we have:

Bible:

-Jesus is Cursed

-Jesus is abandoned by God

-Jesus died a humiliating painful death as a common criminal

The Holy Quran:

-Jesus is blessed

-Jesus is honoured by God, and is of those who are close to God

-Jesus is saved by God, and is raised to heaven, his enemies fail to kill and humiliate him as a criminal

Now ask yourself which book really insults and hates Jesus?
