Jesus the Sinful Hypocrite
Sami Zaatari
Before beginning this article let me make myself clear, I do not believe that Isa (AS) was a sinful hypocrite, rather this article is simply based on the DISTORTED Gospel account of what Jesus supposedly did.
Infact the incident that I am about to use comes from John 8 verses 1-11, the story of Jesus and the adulteress lady whom he sets free, this story has been PROVEN TO BE A FORGERY! So as I said above, I do not believe the Gospel accounts, and on this very Gospel story the textual scholars (Christians included) have said that this story is a forgery.
However even with that said, although the scholars have unanimously said that this story is a forgery, many Christians still believe it actually happened, hence I am going to be arguing on that bases.
So with all of that said let us quote the story:
Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. (John 8: 1-11)
So this is the whole story, the Pharisees bring an adulteress to stone, and they ask Jesus about his opinion on what they are about to do, Jesus tells them that he who is without sin must cast the first stone, and since all of them are sinners none of them cast the stone. This in itself proves that Jesus himself is a sinner, because he too did not cast a stone, and he says that neither does he condemn her.
Now Christians come up with a response, they claim that Jesus was showing his mercy, compassion, and love. Well this response is no good, as we all know, the Jewish Bible calls for the stoning of the adulteress and the adulterer:
And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. (Leviticus 20:10)
So the Jewish law is very clear, the punishment for adultery is stoning, Jesus by simply not following this law was a sinner, yet the argument does not end there, the point of this article is to not only show that Jesus was a sinner (which has been established), but to show that he was a hypocrite as well.
If anyone has read the Gospel you will see that Jesus time and time again condemns the Pharisees for disregarding the Jewish law, he even calls them hypocrites for making their own man made traditions to replace laws from the Jewish Bible:
Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye. (Mark 7:13)
He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. (Mark 7:6)
Now here comes the big problem, Jesus instead of following the Jewish law of stoning makes his own ruling and lets her go! So this means that he is a hypocrite as well, because he attacks the Jews for the same thing, then proceeds to do the same as them by disregarding the law and making his own tradition!
And Allah Knows Best!
