Is the Islamic Jesus a failure?

Sami Zaatari

There are some Christians who argue that the Islamic Jesus, Isa, was a failure. For instance according to the Quran, Jesus' main mission was to teach the people about Tawhid, which is the pure monotheism of God:

"'(I have come to you), to attest the Law which was before me. And to make lawful to you part of what was (Before) forbidden to you; I have come to you with a Sign from your Lord. So fear Allah, and obey me. "'It is Allah Who is my Lord and your Lord; then worship Him. This is a Way that is straight.'" (3:50-51)

So this is what Jesus came to do, to bring the people back to the path of God, Christians claim that this mission was a complete failure because as a result of Jesus, the religion of Christianity was made, a religion that believes in the Trinity and believes in Jesus as God, completely contradicting the Islamic message.

As usual, the Christian has no real argument, rather they have created a straw man, and have attacked the straw man. For instance the Christians want to have their cake and eat it, they agree and say well according to Islam Jesus taught Tawhid and so on, yet even after they state this fact they want to still label Jesus as a failure because people ended up worshiping him. Did the Christian lose their thought process in that statement? Let me make it more simple for them:

Jesus: taught monotheism, to worship God who created him and all of us.

Christians: many end up worshiping Jesus instead

So in other words, Jesus is not a failure, rather it is Christians who have twisted Jesus' legacy, and have attributed things to him, things he never preached! As I said, the Christian cannot have his cake and eat it. Now we can see the silly logic by the Christian, ladies and gentlemen, if someone twists your legacy, does that make you a failure? Of course not! That is absurd! The blame and failure should not lie with Jesus, the blame should lie with the liars who twisted what Jesus came for, they are the blameworthy ones, not Jesus, and it is they who will have the wrath of God on them.

Jesus did what he was supposed to do, he preached the monotheism and laws of God, if people accepted it or rejected it that has nothing to do with Jesus, Jesus' mission is to simply convey the message and give the warning, the rest is up to God. And having said that, there are more than 1.5 billion Muslims who believe in the true message of Jesus, which is Islam.

Lastly, according to Islam, Jesus will return, and will break the cross, essentially breaking the distorted message that has been attributed in his name, hence Jesus will have the last word on this issue, as they say, he who laughs last, laughs the loudest.
