Jesus' Baptism

Christians make the claim that Jesus was sinless, that he was the perfect man, and due to this he is God.

We have already proven that Jesus is NOT sinless in a previous article which can be located here:

In this article we shall see further proof that Jesus is not sinless, and that he is a sinner according to the Bible.

So with that said we can now proceed to the evidence.

When we read the Gospel of Luke, chapter 3, verses 1-3 we read:

1 Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene,  2 Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.  3 And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins

As you can see, the prophet John used to carry out the baptism on the people, and the main idea and usage of the baptism was to cleanse people from their sins. It was a form of repentance, a way to get rid of your sins, to basically be born again, to be born pure and free from sin.

Now one would expect that since Jesus is sinless then he would not need to get baptized, yet we find the opposite of this! When we continue to read Luke chapter 3, we read that Jesus did get baptized! We read this in verse 21:

21 Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened

As you can see, Jesus was baptized, and we earlier read that baptism was to make the people repent from their sins, to be born again. This obviously means that Jesus was a sinner, which is why he got baptized, to cleanse himself of sin, and to be born again.

So in conclusion this is further proof that Jesus is not sinless, rather he is a sinner.

And Allah Knows Best!
