Merry Christmas!
Sami Zaatari
It's almost that time again, Christmas, as I write this article the date is December 24th, and tonight Christians will be holding their Christmas dinner followed by their Christmas day tomorrow on the 25th.
Several articles and books have already been written documenting how this ?Christian' holiday is in fact pagan in origin, hence the aim of this article isn't to simply repeat that same argument, everyone knows about that, and can easily find the information which shows how Christmas is a pagan festival.
The aim of my article is to go BIBLICAL, I mean, isn't it funny that every time Christmas is debated people never seem to use the Bible? Why doesn't anyone ever try to analyze this issue by using the Christian holy text? Surely that would be the best way to see whether the Christmas holiday is something legit, or something that has nothing to do with the Bible, or the man Jesus.
So first and foremost we need to define what the Christmas holiday is and what it's all about, so let's do this in a summarized way:
-Christmas is to mark the birth of Jesus
-Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Jesus, celebrating his birthday
-During Christmas Christian families hold big dinners, inviting family and friends
-Christians decorate their homes and streets, most notably with a Christmas tree
-Christians also exchange gifts with one another, the most notable thing associated with Christmas is the gift giving, that's why kids get excited by Christmas, because of the gifts!
-There is the figure known as Santa Claus, the guy who comes down to your house and gives you your gifts while your asleep, and if your lucky enough you can go sit on his lap and ask him what gifts you would like!
So now we ask the following, what does the Bible have to say about any of the above? The answer is simple; the Bible says absolutely NOTHING about any of the above! We read nothing in the Bible that talks about celebrating or marking Jesus' birthday, or making festivities during this period, nor do we find anything about Santa Claus, and Christmas trees.
Since the Bible says nothing of this issue we can confidently state that this is an innovated religious festival, Christians have simply made this holiday up, you could sort of say that this is like the Trinity, just like the belief in the Trinity is no where in the Bible, the festival holiday of Christmas holds the same.
We could simply end the article there, but we will carry on, because we shall now read Bible verses that actually CONDEMN Christmas, and show that if Jesus knew about such a thing he would be totally against it. We can do this by simply examining certain verses from the Bible, and then compare them to the Christmas holiday; we are simply giving Christmas a Biblical smack down!
Let's start with Santa Clause, one of the most popular figures of Christmas, even more popular than Jesus! Isn't ironic that Christmas is to mark and celebrate the birth of Jesus, yet the first thing you think of when Christmas comes up is Santa Clause, the kids could care less about Jesus, it's all about Santa coming with his rain dears, you could say that Santa has gate crashed the party! On a small side issue, the word Santa could also be changed into Satan, just put the letter N in Santa at the end and you get Satan! The reason I say this is because you have several Christians who love this sort of thing, always using names, numbers, to reach these big conclusions, so that's one for them to enjoy! You could call it SATAN CLAUS.
Anyway, according to the Christmas tradition, Santa comes to your house and gives you gifts, and you also need to behave yourself or Santa (Satan) will not give you anything, in other words be obedient to please Santa (Satan) and he will reward you. You could also meet Santa (Satan) and sit on his lap, you tell him what you want, and he will try to get you what you hope for. Last but not least you could even write to Santa (Satan), you write a list of things you want on a piece of paper, and Santa (Satan) will do his best to get it for you.
Now all of the above is 100% Biblically CONDEMNED! According to the Bible your mediator is Jesus, you should ask God and Jesus (as your mediator) for what you want, not some guy called Santa Claus! As the Bible says:
For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 2:5)
"I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask ME for anything in my name, and I will do it." (John 14:12-14)
So Santa (Satan) replaces the place of both God and his mediator Jesus! So you no longer ask God for what you want, or the mediator Jesus, rather you ask this guy called Santa Claus (Satan Claus)! This amounts up to blasphemy.
What about the festivities of exchanging gifts and putting decorations up, what would Jesus say about such a thing? Well Jesus taught his disciples to shun the world, to not think of the world or their lives, as he said:
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? (Matthew 6:25)
Now contrast the above teaching with Christmas, where everyone is out there thinking of what gifts to buy so they can please other people, the amount of money they spend on decorations to make things look nice, and their dinner planning etc. Surely Jesus wouldn't be too pleased about that now would he?
What more can you say? Hopefully Christians will start following their Bible, which I know is very hard for most Christians since they have essentially become Liberals, and their way of life is not compatible with the Bible.
And Allah Knows Best!
